Dentistry

We are well equipped for your pet’s dental care. All dental procedures are done under full anesthesia. It is the only way to truly get the teeth cleaned under the gumline where the bacteria hide and do the most damage in animals, and to fully evaluate the mouth for dental issues. If your pet’s teeth have more advanced disease, we will also be doing digital dental radiographs to evaluate the roots for problems that cannot be seen with the naked eye.

We certainly hope that your pet will not need any extractions, but if they do, we will make sure that they receive multi-modal pain management so that they hurt as little as possible. We are also prepared to do oral surgery if needed. While your pet is being treated, we will be monitoring their electrocardiogram, pulse oximetry, capnography and blood pressure so that if there are any anesthetic problems we will be able to respond immediately. Your pet’s safety is always our first concern.
